Illinois Council of Deliberation

Quincy Consistory had a delegation at the recent Illinois Council of Deliberation in Springfield, Illinois. At the banquet, Friday, June 8, 2007, it was announced that James B. Otto of Quincy was elected to receive the Meritorious Service Award next year in Peoria, Illinois. Jim is a member of Quincy Consistory since 1970.  He is a member of Quincy Lodge # 296, Grace Whipple Chapter OES #312, Quincy High Twelve Club, White Shrine of Jerusalem and has been the custodian of the Masonic Temple since 1990.  The Illinois Council of Deliberation confers this honor on Consistory members, who by reasons of Meritorious services of a Masonic character are worthy of such recognition. Also at this meeting, the Council of Deliberation presented Barbara Cookson, wife of Jerry Cookson, deceased, a certificate proclaiming Jerry as a Meritorious Service Award recipient.   On Saturday June 9, 2007,  it was announced that Quincy Consistory would receive 51 Scholarships, with a total amount of all Scholarships of $60,000. The Scholarship Committee consists of P Alvin Laird, H J Sade, and Thomas T. Johnson.  These scholarships are awarded to students in this area.
